Food-Grade Material Safety: PP vs PET, FDA & ISO Compliance
Hot food melts the wrong plastic, and a hot melting container will overflow – it makes material not to mention. All our to-go lunch box containers are hot food proofed and molded using food-grade olefin polymer resins complying to FDA 21 CFR 177.1520. Our two resins, PP and PET, will work two different jobs – here’s how they match your menu.

Two resins, two jobs: PP holds the heat, PET holds the clarity. We use a special kind of black PP for microwaving to withstand hot and runny rice bowls, noodles and curry – plus clear PET for crystal clear displays of cold salads without a compromise to structural integrity.

- PP black food containers stand up to microwave reheating up to approx. 120 °C; sufficient heat for the most popular hot mains.
- Cold-holding capabilities include temperatures as low as -18C for chilled, and frozen foods – safe transition from fridge/ freezer to display cabinet without the slightest hint of risk of cracks or tears.
- Our containers offer a completely ODOR-FREE and BPA-FREE dining experience, as the olefin polymer resin we use contains no Bisphenol A which provides customers peace of mind.
There’s increasing pressure on food establishments to verify plastic containers. Confirm food grade plastic and document compliance-a proven Wanhui Container will not be “part of the conversation”, you will already have documented the answer, not questioned about it. Paper and some other bio degradables may have some benefits in regard to a plastic, but do not do well under some conditions.
